Devil May Cry 3 is still holds up as an action all after its intial release in 2005 and is still considered one of the best games action games of all time. It has a solid story, with great characters, well made gameplay and bosses.
Dvil May Cry 3 is the first game in the chronological order of the series. It starts off as Dante opens his business that is still unnamed at this point. A mysterious man approaches Dante and tells him that his twin brother Vergil has a plan and that Dante needs to get involved. The man leaves, then Demons attack and a tower rises from the ground. Dante has to stop Vergil and this man named, Arkham before they release more demonic power upon the world. A woman named Lady also gets involved with this fight. The story is well told and characters are developed greatly. The soundtrack also compliments and captures the entire vibe of the game perfectly. The choreography of action and dialogue in cutscenes is perfect, as well as having a perfect pacing. There aren't many major issues with the plot, but that isn't the reason why people play Devil May Cry 3.
The main area of gameplay in Dvil May Cry 3 is its combat, which is in-depth, varied, gives freedom of choice and consistently challenging. The amount of up-close weapons and guns you can have at your disposal is not really limiting and it allows players to freely express themselves within it's combat systems. There are many different sword types, fists, nun-chucks, a guitar, dual pistols, a rocket launcher and more. The variety of weapons types is great and it also has six different styles to choose from. These styles are swords-master which grants more variety in melee attacks, gun-slinger which grants more variety in gun attacks, trickster which allows for more free movement during combat and traversal, doppelganger which grants multiple Dantes to attack for a few seconds, as well as quicksilver allowing players to stop time for a few seconds. There is some light exploration elements which are alright and mission structure is good for the most part, even though it can be slightly irritating at points. There is also an abundant amount of enemy types and they range from human like demons to demons that resemble chess pieces. These enemies are fun to fight and it also enjoyable when you find a weakness and can attack them and keep a consistent SSS rank, which is the highest level in the rating system. Enemy variety also carries onto boss variety creating a memorable line up of boss fights that are difficult to beat, but also satisfying to defeat. There are a couple of bosses who are duds, either being too simplistic or unfairly hard, but these are few and far between. The best fights by far are the ones with Vergil, as they have the most emotional impact, as well as testing your skill in many areas. Overall, the gameplay is nearly perfect.
Other than some slightly irritating mission structure and bosses, as well as alright exploration, Dvil May Cry 3 perfects every other area. Dvil May Cry 3 will always be considered an action classic because of how well it still plays and how the majority of its design is flawless. Devil May Cry 3 is a Jackpot.
