Mad Max: Fury Road Review- Peak Pure Action

Mad Max: Fury Road is one of the best action movies of all time. It has some of the best special effects, action sequences, choreography, stunts and visuals. It also has a solid, well-told story with some decent character development. Fury Road should be an example of what an action movie should be.

Mad Max, finds himself captured by war boys who need is blood to fuel their cars. He escapes and finds a woman named Furiosa who is trying to save 5 women from Immortan Joe, the leader of the war boys. The story continues from that point telling a viable story with an ending that is definitely satisfying. The story does not deviate or change dramatically with some twist but remains as a way to show action scenes. There were some characters who had great development and others with minimal development. The characters who had the best arcs were the stand outs in the movie and it is interesting to see how they change throughout the events of the story. The characters that instantly come to mind are Max, Furiosa and Nux the war boy but, there are a few others who have good development. The plot and characters are well crafted, but that isn't the point of Fury Road, its the action that is the focus.

Every single action scene in Fury Road is phenomenal. Action scenes are also paced perfectly within the entire movie. All the action is memorable, even though most of it is on vehicles, every scene has a variety of different special effects and choreography. Every scene also sees the characters finding weaknesses to their enemies and once they find the weakness a sequence concludes with the characters escaping by a hair. It's not like theres only one enemy vehicle type or enemy they have to deal with, but instead deal with a multitude of both. The multitude of different enemies makes it more challenging for the protagonists to fight causing bigger scale action sequences and making them more chaotic, in a good way of course.

Mad Max: Fury Road is undoubtedly one of the best action movies ever created. Other than a somewhat simple plot and some plain and slightly boring characters, this movie thrives in every aspect. There is no question the Mad Max: Fury Road is pure action and is in the lead of the genre, and will be for years to come.
