Thriller Review- Iconic for Many Reasons

Thriller is the best selling album of all time and there are many reasons for this. It has one of the most iconic tracklist of all time, solid lyrics and top notch production values. There are so many other factors that make this Michael Jackson album an all time classic and masterpiece.

Quincy Jones' production through the entire LP is varied, interesting and have some of the most memorable beats of all time. The pop and funk production type make this album an enjoyable listen.Every electronic and actual instrument is ;layered perfectly, creating iconic tracks that have aged timelessly. These beats and sounds, feel like they could have been made in this modern age of music. Quincy Jones perfectly captures the main themes of Michael's lyrics. The main themes of love and lust have aged timelessly as well, meaning it can still be used in the context of today. The most world renowned songs are Thriller, Beat It, Billie Jean, P.Y.T, The Girl Is Mine and Human Nature. These are 6 out of the 9 songs, and stating this shows how iconic nearly every track is. The other 3 songs are very solid and well produced, but fall flat compared to the other 6, making them seem boring in comparison. The album is short, allowing each song to be endlessly replayable and can be stuck in your head for days on end. The overall production, adds to the iconic nature of this album and some of these beats have remained flawless.

Michael Jackson's lyricism written by him or not is very solid, and he has proved that some of is lyrics can be iconic forever. Michael's lyrics are solid throughout the album and vary perfectly on every song. The topics Michael focuses on don't really differ on each track as the usually consist of love and lust. This is not a negative though, as he approaches these topics in distinct ways and from different views. Michael has fantastic delivery as you can feel anger, regret, love or whatever emotion Michael portrays through the way he presents his lyrics. His storytelling is varied throughout consistently and some songs have some of the best storytelling in music. Billie Jean is one of the best stories told through a song and the production adds to the sense of regret, as well as irritation and slight anger in the way Michael tells the story. The girl is mine has a great duality between Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson, telling are great story about 2 men desiring the same woman. There are many more examples just like these throughout the album that showcase Michael's ability to tell stories.

Thriller is the best selling album due to all these factors as well as many more elements, that I do not have enough room to right about. Thriller has some of the most iconic songs of all time because of how good they are. This album is an all time classic and masterpiece.
