Doggystyle Review- This is the Bomb

Doggystyle is Snoop Dogg's debut album and his best work. Snoop Dogg has not made an album as consistently good, influential and well perfected as Doggystyle. There are many factors that make Doggystyle a near perfect album.

Dr Dre's production on Doggystyle is untouchable. Each beat is flawless, varied and catchy. Some of these tunes can be stuck in your head for hours and combining this with the fantastic hooks creates a memorable experience.Snoop Dogg's flows are also untouchable and this is where his career peaked in terms of flow. The features are all great even if some of the people featured are not that well known. All these features add to the catchiness and funkiness of this LP. Every song is memorable and none of them are flops or bad. The album only contains 13 songs and it isn't a chore to listen to and the run time does not drag out at any points. There is tones of replay value it can be listened to at a party, when is person is just trying to chill or at any time. There are many albums that are focussed on one aspect of listening such as either being a party album or being lyrically intricate and not really being applicable for a party. Doggystyle achieves are both of the above and is an LP that has diverse production and beats causing songs to be hype, or chill or even dark in a lyrical sense. Doggystyle is a perfectly produced albums, with catchy hooks and tones of replay value.

Snoop Dogg is at his lyrical peak and I believe 2 of the songs were completely free-styled. The topics Snoop raps about very from murder, gangs, women, alcohol and partying. The range and versatility of topics Snoop focus is a great amount. Each song has great lyrics and really paints a picture of what he is rapping about. There is also great story telling scattered throughout the album and these stories are unique to Snoop' style as he usually does not rap about a story. There are some lyrics that fall flat, but this is not often as most of Snoop's lyrics peak in this album. Some of the introductions to songs get repetitive or slightly annoying. The lyrical and storytelling masterpieces are definitely Tha Shiznit and Murder Was the Case. I believe this song was free-styled in the studio making it an even more impressive song. The songs Ain't No Fun and Who Am I? are the most chill and have the most replay-ability . Gin N Juice is the most iconic song of this LP and can be considered the best song, but any song can really be considered the best.

Doggystyle is Snoop Dogg at his peak lyrics and storytelling. Dre's production is some his best and really compliments the replay-ability of this album. Doggystyle is a masterpiece and classic of the rap genre.
